Entering signing day, 270 of the top 300 prospects this cycle are committed. Day 1 of the early signing period has brought chaos, from Alabama landing two five-star defenders from the same high school to a five-star safety decommitting from Notre Dame and instead signing with Oregon. The Ducks made a massive leap up the rankings, while other teams, in turn, plummeted.

Utah is up next when WSU travels to Salt Lake City for a Sept. 28 meeting. The last time the Cougars visited Utah they came away with a win, marking the fourth-straight victory over the Utes.

Back-to-back games in Martin Stadium close out WSU's 2019 home schedule, beginning with a Nov. 16 appearance by the Stanford Cardinal. WSU has posted three-straight wins over the Cardinal dating back to the 2016 season. That is followed by a Nov. 23 matchup against Oregon State as part of Senior Night. The first road contest comes at Houston on Friday, Sept. 13, as part of the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff at NRG Stadium in Houston.

ASU. Don’t discount Herm Edwards’ defensive smarts, improved recruiting, and 75,000 fans on a sweltering night in Tempe. He Bears of the Big Sky were 2-9 in 2018 and are 5-16 over the last three seasons. SID Bill Stevens has not estimated the money figure the Cougars will send UNCO for their trip to Pullman, though the Bears received $325,000 for playing Colorado at Folsom Field in 2016. The Bears open 2019 against struggling San Jose State, so there's a chance the Week Two affair in Pullman features two 1-0 teams. Both will simulcast selected games on ESPN Deportes and Fox Deportes. Fox will televise the Pac-12 Football Championship Game on Friday, Dec. 6.

A good day for the Ducks got even better with the additions of defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei, the No. 65 prospect in the ESPN 300, and cornerback Daylen Austin, the No. 142 prospect. ESPN 300 wide receiver Adam Hopkins is joining Sanders and the Buffaloes. Hopkins, out of Georgia, is the second ESPN 300 commit in Colorado's class so far. He had committed to Auburn in the fall but decommitted earlier this month. Caleb Presley, a cornerback out of Seattle, flipped his commitment from Oregon to Washington.

Four-star defensive end Neeo Avery, who is No. 174 in the ESPN 300, is staying in his home state. A product of Olney, Maryland, he signed to play with the Terrapins after decommitting from Ole Miss. The No. 239 recruit becomes the Wolverines' sixth ESPN 300 commit in the class. Hill had offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Illinois and Washington. Most of the ESPN 300 have already committed, but there are still several top recruits available.

Uiagalelei is the brother of former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who is in the transfer portal. Oregon flipped five-star safety Peyton Bowen earlier in the day. It now has 13 ESPN 300 recruits and is moving up the class rankings. AS FOR THE PAC-12 NORTH IN 2019, it shapes up as a bear for all six teams, and WSU drew the short straw in this scheduling cycle. The Cougars play Oregon and Washington – likely preseason top-15 foes – and California on the road. WSU also plays consecutive road games twice during conference play, though a bye week is sandwiched in between.

THE PAC-12 TODAY announced the first three weeks of its 2019 football TV schedule -- and the Apple Cup kickoff time and TV slot was also announced. Washington State plays on the conference network two-straight weeks to open the 2019 season.
